Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York | 2017–2018
As Chair of the Board of Directors at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York, I created this annual report to give members a clear picture of the congregation's work, accomplishments, challenges, and priorities during a year of significant transition.
The information came from many parts of the organization. Committee leaders submitted reports on their activities and accomplishments. The minister and professional staff contributed their own reports, and previously approved organizational documents were included as appendices. I served as executive editor, proofreading contributions by others and combining the elements into a coherent, accessible publication.
I also wrote the Executive Summary, which placed the individual reports within the larger story of the year. I highlighted major transitions and accomplishments—including new leadership, membership growth, expanded programming, strategic planning, fundraising, and ongoing questions about governance and financial sustainability.
The completed report provided a record of the year's work and a way for members to see how individual programs, committees, leadership decisions, and strategic priorities fit together as one organizational story told by many voices.
