From Funded Grant Proposal to Campus Program

In 2016, as Director of First-Year Experience at York College of Pennsylvania, I wrote a successful Great-to-Greater grant proposal to create a new program connecting first-year students with recent college graduates working in the York region.
The Meet Your Future Self program brought young alumni back to campus for informal dinner conversations with students about their college experiences, professional development, and pathways to successful careers. Related workshops and workplace visits provided opportunities for students to build on those conversations.
The proposal established the program's educational rationale, measurable objectives, assessment methods, implementation plan, and alignment with the college's strategic priorities. It also brought together campus partners in Alumni Relations, Career Development, and professional development.
Following the grant award, I developed and coordinated the program's events and supporting communications, including promotional materials, student conversation guides, and evaluation tools.
This project demonstrates my ability to turn an organizational goal into a fundable proposal and then translate that proposal into a coordinated program with practical opportunities for student learning and engagement.
