YCP INSIDER
FYS Fellows
Student Communications • Scriptwriting • Content Strategy • Multimedia Development
As Director of First-Year Experience at York College of Pennsylvania, I developed YCP Insider as short-form digital content. It was part of a series to help new students navigate the people, resources, and practices that could support their success.
The videos were delivered at scheduled points during the weeks following orientation, when students were beginning to navigate the college experience they had previously only heard about.
For this installment, I wrote and produced a short student-facing video introducing the FYS Fellow peer-mentor role. The script is organized around two questions a new student is most likely to ask: “Who is my Fellow?” and “What does my Fellow do?” It translates program information into direct, conversational guidance about academic success, campus navigation, referrals, belonging, and appropriate peer-mentor boundaries.
The recurring message—“Make York College your campus from Day One”—gave the series a consistent student-centered purpose: make useful information easier to understand, remember, and act on. My role included concept and content development, scriptwriting, editing, and development of the visual/video presentation.
